Who we are:
To start with, I want people to know that I used to be a big skeptic about using cloth diapers when my husband suggested it first when we had our first born, Josh. Josh grew up using disposables for 3 years and a half because I found it revolting to use cloth diapers. In my little knowledge of what cloth diapering is all about, I just brushed it off thinking that it's very inconvenient to use because I have to wash it everyday. Good thing, Josh never had a problem with diaper rashes since he was fully breastfed till 2 years and 2 months. But things changed when we had our 2nd child, Erin.
Although fully breastfed like her brother, Erin had diaper rashes as early as 2 months old. At first it was cured by Hyland's calendula ointment but the diaper rash kept coming back. Then I thought it might be the solids that she was taking, so I had to do the elimination process to determine which food was causing the rash. Then we went from one disposable diaper brand to the other but the rash just got worse and more difficult to treat. We finally had to use steroids but the rash got from worse to worst to the point of blistering. It was really a nightmare. Erin cried so hard that it broke our hearts. Her appetite was even affected and she lost a lot of weight. I researched day and night for the right cloth diaper because there's no good cloth diaper available in the Philippines. Finally, I found Best Bottom Diapers. I read all the reviews at diaperpin.com and fell in love with Best Bottom. Best Bottom diapers are really easy to use and very well made. And the colors are gorgeous. I love that it's available in brown and black unlike the usual pastel colors. Although the pink, blue and mint green are adorable too. The leg gussets are fantastic in leakage problems. They hold the pees and the poos really well. I do not remember Erin getting poo blow ups.
